We’ve never stayed at a hotel in Halden before, and we’re so glad we chose Fredriksten Hotel. Perfect location right next to the fascinating Fredriksten Fortress and with a beautiful view over Iddefjorden. The room was clean, modern, and tasteful. The staff were very friendly and service-oriented. One final tip: make sure you’re properly hungry when you enter the breakfast room, because inside awaits plenty of delicious quality food.

Magical silence. The rooms have historical quotes written on doors and walls, which emphasizes its historical location next to Fredriksten Fortress. And not least, completely quiet. We heard no sounds from other guests. The staff was smiling and friendly. The breakfast was absolutely superb, with everything you could want and more.

Hidden gem if you don’t need to stay in the city center! The view was very beautiful! Pleasant, quiet and peaceful to sit outside in the evening sun. Good breakfast with a nice selection. The dinner in the evening was very good. Good parking options. Friendly and accommodating service. Quiet and peaceful hotel.
