Throughout Northern Europe’s largest fortress complex, there are stories of heroism and sacrifice. The history is told in museums or via guides. At all the important locations, there is information with QR codes that use animated films to tell you what happened at the exact spot where you’re standing. In addition, the Fredriksten Museum is worth a visit with its collection that brings history to life.
The tour starts at 12:00 PM at the upper parking lot of the fortress. Upon check-in, you will receive a ticket to be presented when you arrive for the historical tour.
When evening comes, the restaurant is set for a delicious dinner. If you go for an evening walk, we recommend visiting the light show that is displayed every evening on the walls of the inner fortress.
